Customers Are Unlocking the Power of Hybrid Cloud with VMware Cloud on AWS
Looking to rapidly migrate to the cloud? Scale cost-effectively and strengthen disaster recovery? You’re not alone. Here’s how organizations are unlocking the power of hybrid cloud with VMware Cloud on AWS.
Try vSphere with Tanzu for 60 days
For the first time ever, you can try out vSphere with Tanzu for 60 days without ever leaving the vSphere client! While you might be familiar with the VMware evaluation program that requires a My VMware login, we wanted to make evaluating Kubernetes on vSphere with Tanzu a lot easier. After you upgrade to vSphere 7 Update 1, click on the “Workload Management” section in the menu and you will see a simple form to enroll into the in-product evaluation. After you’re done filling that out you will have access to a fully functional live trial of vSphere with Tanzu!

Kubernetes Is Not Just Kubernetes—Ramp Up with These Eight Open Source Projects
When was the last time you got a Kubernetes cluster up and running and said, “Welp, now we’re done”? Probably never. The cluster is only one part of the puzzle. In this demo, you will see eight open source technologies that provide different aspects of operating Kubernetes.
Get a technical demo of Kubernetes automation with Cluster API, use Kubeapps and Harbor to provide easy access to new applications, utilize Antrea and Contour to improve network performance, visualize the cluster with Octant, measure conformance with Sonobuoy, and save the day with Velero.
There’s a lot more to Kubernetes than just the platform, and VMware is committed to open source and their communities so that we can all deliver better solutions.
TAM Lab 083 – VMware vSphere with Kubernetes – Day 2 Operations
Dean Lewis (@saintdle) and Simon Conyard (@Virtual_Simon) dive into a session outlining Day 2 operations in a vSphere with Kubernetes environment. This session was presented during the Canada VMUG Virtual UserCon on Thursday, October 22, 2020.
Tutorial: How to Use VMware Tanzu Mission Control to Remediate Kubernetes Vulnerability CVE-2020-8554
The upstream Kubernetes community recently discovered a security issue—CVE-2020-8554— affecting multitenant clusters that allows anyone who is able to create a ClusterIP service and set the spec.external IPs field to intercept traffic to that IP address. There is no patch for this issue yet, and it can currently only be mitigated by restricting access to the vulnerable features.
Monitoring: Next for Containers, Multicloud and Observability
Most organizations have 10-15 monitoring tools. With containers and multi cloud, the complexity of the infrastructure and applications you are helping support is increasing. You need something that can “observe everything” so that you don’t spend hours on a Webex/Zoom shuttling across multiple tools. And you want analytics that will help you get to the issue-area quickly. Modernizing applications that have front-ends in the cloud and back-end in the data center don’t make life any easier.
Join us to learn how observability platforms like VMware Tanzu Observability by Wavefront enables you to:
- Troubleshoot your cloud/hybrid/on-premises applications and environments
- Anticipate possible problems, take corrective action, and prevent unexpected disruption in service
- Use analytics-driven alerts to proactively resolve incidents across private, hybrid, and public clouds
Demo: Tanzu Mission Control Integrated with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Service
Tanzu Mission Control is now integrated with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Service, a component of vSphere 7 with Tanzu. Now, customers can centrally provision and manage the lifecycle of Tanzu Kubernetes clusters on vSphere 7 across multiple vCenter Server instances and/or multiple datacenters via Tanzu Mission Control. See how it works in this demo.
